ABOUT

My name is Simon Barrett and I have been involved in Australian horticulture and arboriculture industry for 35 years. I completed my initial studies at the Victorian College of Agriculture and Horticulture, followed by the Merrist Wood Agricultural College. Amongst other qualifications and trade certificates, I have attained a Diploma of Applied Science (Horticulture) and a National Certificate in Horticulture (Arboriculture).

I started as a climbing arborist in 1983 for Ashton Tree Services and continued this until successfully graduating from Burnley Horticultural College in 1986. In 1987 I had the opportunity to work in Colorado, both pruning and removing trees in the iconic Rocky Mountains before returning to Australia. Since then, I have continuously worked as an Arborist and only recently ceased being on the tools.

Over the years, I have successfully undertaken a wide variety of work from domestic to commercial. These works have included contracts for The National Trust, Delta Demolition, ADCO Commercial Builders, Mackies Commercial Builders, Dandenong North Primary School, Royal Melbourne Golf Club to name just a few. All this work has been undertaken with the utmost safety and compliance. The types of work undertaken have included tree transplanting, pruning, tree removal, surveys, and reports. A lot of water has passed under this bridge!

Tree 2 Tree is my new business, and I am now providing tree reports for a wide range of circumstances. From one tree to many trees, domestic or commercial, I personally assess all sites. Therefore, unlike many companies, you will always be treated as an individual with a name and never as merely a number.
